We are delighted to present the new Porthmadog FC Juniors – Dwyfor under 8 kits, sponsored by EOG Accounting.
Rhys is the coach of the under-8’s team and is really looking forward to guiding the great bunch of boys and girls that come to the club through their first season in the Llyn ac Eifionydd League.
Rhys is in the process of obtaining his ‘C’ Licence coaching qualification through the highly accredited FAW trust. He is doing this on a voluntary basis to try and give the kids the best possible start on their footballing journey. The ‘C’ licence course teaches coaches how to train the kids the various basic techniques and skills required to play the ‘beautiful game’. More importantly, it teaches coaches how they have a responsibility to instil life skills within the children; such as confidence, being a team player, leadership and respect. “Hopefully the children enjoy themselves enough that they will continue to take part in physical activities throughout their lives.”
On Sunday Rhys will be on his second day of the ‘C’ Licence course held at the Eirias Stadium, Colwyn Bay. The team have their first league game tomorrow morning against Blaenau Amateurs, so wish them luck!
